Abstract

The importance of final state interactions in hadronic decays of D mesons is discussed. A model independent measurement of the phase of the K − π + S-wave amplitude from D + → K − π + π + decays is presented. The result indicates a deviation from the phase of the K − π + S-wave amplitude obtained by scattering experiments. This could be interpreted as an indication of the presence of 3-body final state interaction.
