Abstract
The development of VLSI and LSI technology for telecommunications has been aided by the large volume of integrated circuits that find application in telecommunication market. Using the PCM filter design as a case study, in this paper, we review the developments of LSI and VLSI technology in the past two decades and the manner in which these developments have been utilized. Extensive coverage on analog designs, switched-capacitor designs, and more recent digital filter designs is presented.
