Abstract

Thin, flat, sintered ceramic sheets of thicknesses down to 50 μm were made by the tubular film blowing of a suspension consisting of 50 vol % alumina powder. This represents the transfer of a well-established method for the manufacture of thermoplastic polymer films to the engineering ceramics arena.
