Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of a file system for educational operating system. The file system is developed with a series of experiments consisting often projects, from hard disk driver to file I/O control and running bash shell, and the final project itself realizes a practical file system, which is beneficial for students to learn and suitable for operating system course teaching in undergraduate computer majors. All the projects in the experiment series are developed based on a tiny educational operating system kernel, named Qutenix, implemented by the author of this paper.
