Abstract
Public sector corruption has been a menace to the development of Ghana. Corruption in Ghana seems to be growing with each passing year. Many citizens are struggling to understand why the country cannot overcome this menace. The rule of law is essential in combating corruption. In this paper, a review of the legal framework for fighting corruption is undertaken with the aim of identifying and suggesting ways of improving the ways of fighting corruption in Ghana. From the review, it is suggested that courts must carefully balance the rights of the accused against the wider public interest and that we must have an independent, impartial, and effective judiciary because it is the cornerstone of accountable government.
