Abstract

Homeownership represents a considerable source of investment, upward mobility, and intergenerational transfer of resources and has, therefore, been labeled as the American Dream. The purpose of this research, therefore, was to discuss Community Development Corporations (CDCs), Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs), and Faith-based CDCs and examine the perception of homeowners on the aforementioned programs. Two hundred out of 400 homeowners elected to participate in this quantitative study. The results revealed several statistically significant findings regarding the perceptions of homeowners on homeownership programs.
