Abstract

Coal spontaneous combustion fire is a major disaster in coal mines in China. Roughly 56% of mines in China has suffered from spontaneous combustion coal seams. Therefore, fire prevention and extinguishment in coal mines are particularly important. This section mainly introduces related technologies for coal mine fire extinguishing, including composite fly ash gel injection technology, pressure equalization fire extinguishing technology, spraying perfusion inhibitor and nitrogen injection, and other related technologies. The flame retardant mechanism of various fire extinguishing technologies is analyzed from different angles such as active free radical chain reaction theory and mathematical model; combined with actual cases of a successful application, the technical characteristics of various technologies are analyzed, and the actual application effect is observed to verify its correctness of the mechanism of action. Then, the pertinence of relevant fire prevention and extinguishing technologies were discussed by the action mechanism, technical characteristics and implementation effects. Based on the scope and mechanism of action combined with the technical characteristics of the respective fire extinguishing technologies, the scope of application of various technologies is studied and analyzed, to achieve targeted fire extinguishment and improve the safety of coal mines. For some coal seams with more complicated conditions, a single fire prevention and control technology can no longer effectively prevent and control it, and various joint fire prevention and control technologies can be implemented according to the characteristics of various fire prevention and control technologies.
