Abstract
Two isostructural coordination polymers, [MII(N2H4)2F2·2H2O]n where M = Fe (1·Fe) or Co (2·Co) have been synthesized and characterized. Both compounds exhibit double hydrazine bridged 1D chains where MII centers are six-coordinate with octahedral geometry. Magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal that compound 1·Fe exhibits slow magnetic relaxation characteristic of single-ion magnet (SIM) behavior, which is rarely obtained in FeII coordination polymers.
