Abstract

Field experiments carried out at various locations in India have shown that grain yield of sorghum ( Sorghum bicolor ), pearlmillet ( Pennisetum americanum ), fingermillet ( Eleusine coracana ), and barley ( Hordeum vulgare ) increased, either with or without urea, with seed inoculation with Azospirillum brasilense . Freilandversuche auf verschiedenen Standorten Indiens zeigten, daß Saatgutbeimpfung mit Azospirillum brasilense mit und ohne zusätzlicher Harnstoffdüngung den Ertrag von Hirse ( Sorghum bicolor, Pennisetum americanum, Eleusine coracana ) und Gerste ( Hordeum vulgare ) erhöhte.
