Abstract
Mental health advocates and providers have expressed concern about the Trump administration's new expanded public charge rule announced Aug. 14. The new rule, which includes the use of public assistance programs, would limit the eligibility of low‐income immigrants to federal programs including Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and housing and nutrition programs. This policy change will result in significant harm to the health and welfare of immigrant families, they said.
