Abstract

Field measurements of ground fault current distribution and substation ground impedance of the LG-2 complex in Quebec, are presented. A high current measuring technique is described in Appendix A, Appendix B illustrates the way current distribution and efficiency were determined. The effectiveness of each grounding element is calculated, showing that the grounding conductors and not the ground grid drain most of the fault current.
