Abstract

It seems only fitting that during a month designated as National Suicide Prevention Month, the U.S. House of Representatives on Sept. 21 would vote unanimously to pass the National Suicide Hotline Designation Act (S. 2661), which creates a universal three‐digit number (988) for suicide prevention and mental health crises. The bill is now awaiting the president's signature.
