Abstract

The experiment was conducted in the experimental field of Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology, Gurgaon during the period from 2008–2009 0 & 2009–2010(second season). The experiment was conducted to evaluate the bioefficacy and phytotoxicity of different doses of Imazethapyr 10% SL a early post emergence herbicide along with market sample of Imazethapyr 10% SL (Product) for comparison in soybean crop. less number of major broad leave weeds per sq.m were observed under all the treatments when compared with untreated control at 30 days after applications of Imazethapyr 10% SL and Imazethapyr 10% SL in soybean crop. It was found that Imazethapyr 10% SL @ 1000 ml/ha, Imazethapyr 10% SL (market sample) @ 1000 ml/ha and Imazethapyr 10% SL @ 1500 ml/ha, Imazethapyr 10% SL (market) @ 1500 ml/ha were found statistically at per in total weed count per sq.m at 30 days after application. Imazethapyr 10% SL application at higher doses i.e., 2000 and 3000 ml/ha gives same weed control as that of two hand weeding. Weed control efficiency per cent ranges from 86.5 to 87.8 at 1000 ml/ha and 1500 ml/ha of Imazethapyr 10% SL and it ranges from 86.5 to 87.3 at same doses from market product with maximum WCE in hand weeding plots. In respect of yield, maximum grain yield was achieved with imazethapyr application at higher doses which was at per with hand weeding. As such there was no phytotoxicity effect (rating 0) of any doses of Imazethapyr 10% SL.
