Abstract
The paper is focused on the development and the field evaluation of the isolated and new coordinated ramp metering strategies on the A6W motorway in Paris. Three strategies are implemented, tested and evaluated. Traffic, environmental and safety indices are used during the evaluation process. A simple and robust coordinated strategy are developed and tested which corresponds to the added value of this paper. The second added value of this paper is the use of the generalized risk index function as safety index for the evaluation process.
