Abstract

Field experiment was undertaken at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sindewahi (during rabi 2011–12), and at the Agriculture Research Station, Sakoli (during rabi 2012–13 and 2013–14) to evaluate the efficacy of newer insecticides against the gram pod borer, H. armigera (Hubner) on chickpea. The results revealed that, application of emamectin benzoate 5% SG was found more effective followed by-cyhalothrin 5%EC and ethion 50%EC in terms of maximum larval reduction, and lower pod damage translating in higher yield. However, highest incremental cost benefit ratio (ICBR) was exhibited with-cyhalothrin 5% EC followed by ethion 50% EC.
