Abstract

Monique Zaini-Lajoubert Indonesian television has broadcast fiction films since its inception in 1962. These broadcasts have become known since 1985 under the name sinetron (sinema elektronik). The term's meaning seems to have changed with time. Today it can mean any kind of television film, fiction or non-fiction, produced in Indonesia or abroad. This article studies Indonesian fiction films for television which, since the creation of so-called " private " television since the end of the 1980s, have experienced tremendous development. It tries to highlight a particular aspect of the sinetron, as vehicles of ideologies, not only under the New Order, but also since Reformasi. It deals particularly with sinetron such as Losmen, Terjebak, Reuni, Penari or Bingkisan untuk Presiden.
