Abstract

Centrifugal force spinning is a method of preparation fibrous materials by extrusion of viscous liquid material thru thin orifices or needles of rotating spinneret simply by centrifugal force. Due to basic simplicity of the process, the low amount of process parameters needed to control the fiber production leads to easier and potentially more scalable utilization than conventional electrospinning which can be overcome in the field of deposition rate, material variability and also by the possibility of spinning from melt. This contribution gives examples of fibrous materials prepared by this method at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Technology at Brno University of Technology together with showing the possible utilization of force spun fibers in energy storage.
