Abstract

Summary The clinical and pathological aspects of 9 cases of nodular hyperplasia of the liver are described. Special attention is given to the study of jaundice both at onset and during the course of the disease. The frequency with which nodular hyperplasia of the liver presents a pseudo-obstructive type of jaundice is emphasized. When this syndrome is associated with other symptoms of cirrhosis the diagnosis of nodular hyperplasia of the liver may be suspected. The diagnostic difficulties, the variable course of the disease, and the present inefficacy of its treatment are discussed.
