Abstract

This study used the National Cardiovascular Data Registry Acute Coronary Treatment and Intervention Outcomes Network Registry—Get With the Guidelines, to examine ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treatments and outcomes. The objectives of the study were to 1) determine how drive times between referring and receiving centers determined choice of fibrinolysis vs. primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI) and 2) evaluate outcomes for those patients eligible for either fibrinolysis or pPCI based on inter-hospital transfer times.
