Abstract

This work investigates the use of fibrin as a membrane in bone neoformation. The study was conducted in rabbits where defects were made in the parietal area of the skull and then repaired. The material used for repair and tested was: 1) Fibrin only, 2) Fibrin/Bone Morphogenic Protein-2 (BMP2), 3) Fibrin/BMP/Demineralized Cadaveric Bone (DCB), 4) Fibrin/Autologus bone (AB), 5) defect was left to heal spontaneously with no added material (control).
