Abstract
We report on our ongoing research activities on integrated EPON and WLAN-based wireless mesh networks with a focus on reducing the CO<sub>2</sub> footprint and improving the bandwidth-efficient video transport of fiber-wireless (FiWi) access networks. Various power saving techniques and mechanisms for efficient video transport in FiWi access networks are discussed.
