Abstract
We demonstrate that organoyttroxanealumoxanes with the general formula [Al(OR)l(OR*)x(OH)zOy]m · [(R**O)sY(OH)tOr]k, where m/k < 200, possess fiber-forming properties, which allows one to use them as precursors to yttria-doped alumina-based refractory fibers, including those identical in composition to yttrium aluminum garnet, Al5Y3O12 [1].
