Abstract
The present work investigates the fiber extraction, tensile and flexural properties of agave American/kenaf fibers reinforced epoxy Hybrid composites. The fibers length are varied from 1 cm to 4 cm with varying the relative fiber weight fraction (Wf) such as 10, 15, 20 and 25% respectively. Fibers were extracted manually by water retting process. The random mixed fibers reinforced hybrid composites were prepared by handy layup method with compression moulding process. Scanning Electron Microscopy was employed for studying the microstructure of the specimen. Specimens were cut and tested by following ASTM standard. The experimental analysis has shown that fiber length of 3 cm having 20% Wf yields the best results for tensile and flexural strength.
