Abstract

Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) Acoustic Emission (AE) detection system has irreplaceable advantages in many measurement environments due to its anti-electromagnetic interference, simple structure, and distributed. The FBG AE sensor and the piezoelectric ceramic AE sensor were used to test the lead breaking of the steel plate. After verifying the reliability, the acoustic emission test of the rotating mechanical bearing and gear was carried out. The tunable Fabry-Perot filter demodulation method is used for demodulation, the band-pass filtering and wavelet threshold methods are used for filtering and denoising, and the data is analyzed by parameter analysis. The experimental results and theoretical analysis show that the bearing and gear fault signal detected by FBG AE sensing system is clear, and it has good consistency compared with the traditional piezoelectric AE sensor. It can replace the traditional piezoelectric sensor for the health monitoring of rotating machinery.
