Abstract

A general minimum-reflux calculation algorithm for multicomponent nonideal mixtures is developed from the geometrical theory of the arrangement of distillation trajectories. Various separation variants are considered, including intermediate variants and variants with one distributed component. Methods are suggested for determining the liquid and vapor compositions in the feed cross section. The algorithm covers special cases such as separation at a tangential pinch and separation with heat supply to or extraction from the feed cross section.
