Abstract

Fever in the myelodysplastic child with an ileal conduit can result from several causes. Ninety hospital admissions for work-up of fever in myelodysplastic children with ileal diversion at University Hospitals of Cleveland and Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital were reviewed. The multidisciplinary approach to the work-up of fever in these children, utilizing a medical team consisting of a pediatrician, urologist, neurosurgeon, and an orthopedist, is emphasized.
