Abstract
Near term, a fetal lamb can secrete up to 5 ml/hr kg body wt of lung liquid (about 400 ml/day), a process accomplished by the active movement of chloride ions into the lung lumen across a relatively impermeable epithelium. 1 Olver RE Strang LB.
