Abstract

Undoubtedly, in the group of causes of death, called "maternal mortality", the main role - from 40 to 70% - is played by mortality from sepsis. However, it should be borne in mind that this mortality is caused by two completely different reasons: 1) postpartum sepsis complicates the essentially normal process of childbirth and should be controlled through social preventive measures during pregnancy, clinical obstetrics, etc. and 2) sepsis after abortion depends in the vast majority of cases on abortion, and the fight against it should to be in the fight against expulsion.
