Abstract

After intramuscular injection of nalbuphine during parturition severe and prolonged fetal bradycardia developed, which normalized only after maternal intravenous injection of naloxone. Four other children have recently been described with the same complication, so caution is advised regarding the use of nalbuphine during labor.
