Abstract
Objective To understand the onset, causes, treatment and prognosis of neonatal atrtial flutter. Methods Clinical data of 3 cases of neonatal atrial flutter which was detected before birth and admitted to our hospital after birth from 2005 to 2007 were collected. The onset, causes, treatment and prognosis of the 3 cases were analyzed and literature were reviewed. Results Medication in these 3 eases before and after birth was effective and no recurrence was reported when followed up at 8 months and the age of 2. Conclusons Fetal atrial flutter should be managed actively by providing medication to the mothers and those remained after birth can be managed by medication, transesophageal overdrive atrial pacing or direct electrical eardioversion with good outcomes.
