Abstract

We consider the radial Schrödinger equation with an arbitrary superposition of the power-law potentials. In the (modified) harmonic-oscillator basis and for a sufficiently large model space, we construct the simple and closed effective hamiltonian matrix. Its asymptotically dominant component coincides with the recently suggested smooth-truncation prescription.
