Abstract

We report the robust room-temperature ferromagnetic behavior and electromagnetic microwave absorption property of Cr-doped MoS2 nanosheets synthesized by hydrothermal method. The static and dynamic measurement results indicate that the Cr dopants can effectively improve the ferromagnetic behavior of MoS2 nanosheets as well as their microwave attenuation performance in the frequency range from 2 to 18 GHz. An minimal reflection loss value of − 43 dB is achieved with 2 mm thickness and the Cr dopants of 4.24 at.%. This study demonstrates the capability of Cr-doped MoS2 nanosheets to be an outstanding candidate for high-efficiency microwave absorption.
