Abstract

We calculate the line-width and the shift of the uniform magnons due to the magnetoelastic coupling of spin waves to a strain field of a group of dislocations in first and second order of perturbation theory, respectively. The introduction of the interference scattering of magnons on a group of N ∼ 10 parallel, closely packed dislocations is needed to reach an agreement with the observed line-width for plastically deformed nickel, while under the same conditions, the line-shift is about one order of magnitude smaller than the line-width.
