Abstract
A nickel(II) complex with 2-hydroxy- N, N ′-bis(1-methyl-3-hydroxy-3-phenyl-2-propen-1-ylidene)-1,3-propanediamine (H 3L),[Ni 4(L) 2(CH 3O) 2(CH 3OH) 2], was synthesized and structurally characterized. The X-ray crystal structure shows that the compound has a tetranuclear structure with a mixed-spin state consisting of octahedral NO 5 and planar NO 3 coordination environments, which is formed by alkoxo-bridges. Magnetic susceptibility data show ferromagnetic behavior.
