Abstract

We present a model of the N-I-S tunneling device where the frequency of the Josephson plasma mode (JPM) in the cuprate superconducting electrode S is regulated between zero and several THz by the quasiparticle injection from the normal electrode N through the barrier I. We calculate the shift δΩpl of the transverse JPM Ωpl versus the dc bias current and find the conditions when the resonance vanishes. That causes the nonequilibrium instability in respect to the transition into an electronic ferroelectric state in S.
