Abstract

Dielectric constant and hysteresis loop measurements have been performed on rare earth doped triglycine sulphate single crystals to characterize the second-order phase transition. In the vicinity of the Curie point, the square of the spontaneous polarization increases linearly with decreasing temperature, and the coercive field follows asymptotically the relationship Ec = A(TC — T)s. Variation in the ferroelectric behaviour according to the electronic configurations of the dopant ions has been observed. [Russian Text Ignored]
