Abstract

The ferro- and antiferromagnetic susceptibilities of the Ising model with a transverse field are calculated in various situations. The ferromagnetic susceptibility increases with a large critical index value at first and the critical index decreases to the value of the Ising limit, when the transverse field is near the critical value. The antiferromagnetic susceptibility deviates from the Curie-Weiss law in the same situation.
