Abstract

We study the ferrimagnetic properties of spin 1/2 andspin-1 systems by means of the effective field theory. The systemis considered in the framework of bond dilution mixed Blume–Capelmodel (BCM) with random single-ion anisotropy. The investigationof phase diagrams and magnetization curves indicates the existenceof induced magnetic ordering and single or multi-compensationpoints. Special emphasis is placed on the influence of bond dilutionand random single-ion anisotropy on normal or induced magneticordering states and single or multi-compensation points. Normalmagnetic ordering states take on new phase diagrams with increasingrandomness (bond and anisotropy), while anisotropy induced magneticordering states are always occurrence no matter whether concentrationof anisotropy is large or small. Existence and disappearanceof compensation points rely strongly on bond dilution and randomsingle-ion anisotropy. Some results have not been revealed inprevious papers and predicted by Néel theory of ferrimagnetism.
