Fermions in the U(1) Y hypercharge theory

Abstract

The U(1) Y hypercharge sector of the standard electroweak theory is studied on the lattice. It is shown that, for fermions with both nonsinglet ψ L and ψ R , the doubler modes can be removed in the continuum limit while the masses of the physical fermions can be tuned appropriately. Data from simulations will be discussed and compared with recent analytic calculations.
