Abstract
We construct vertex operator representations of the twisted affine algebras in terms of fermionic (or perafermionic in some cases) elementary fields. The folding method applied to the extended Dynkin diagrams of the affine algebras allows us to determine explicitly these fermionic fields as vertex operators.
