Abstract

Summary A new type of a cylindrical stirrer has been employed for the submersion fermentation of the exocellular bacterial glucomannan polysaccharide by a mutant strain Xanthomonas campestris pv. phaseoli fermenting lactose in a 201 laboratory tank with 50% filling, ensuring better utilization of the nutrient medium and conditions for increased yield of the exopolysaccharide product.
