Abstract
Results of detailed investigations of the sedimentary facies, faunas, and depositional environments of the Eocene-Oligocene marine, lagoonal, and deltaic deposits of the Fergana basin (USSR) are summarized and the value of such a program of intergrated paleoecologic and lithologic research for resolving various problems of paleontology, stratigraphy, and petroleum geology is noted.
