Abstract

Abstract A new polyethylene fencing material is useful for the construction of fish weirs, traps, and holding pens. Plastic trash containers can be easily modified to securely hold live fish for relatively long periods without harm. These inexpensive materials were used effectively in studies of pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) in a small Ontario stream and may warrant use in studies of other species.
