Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal 2nd and 4th grades elementary science education students\' knowledge of science and technology curriculum and to explore their opinion about this curriculum. The sample of the study consisted of total 60 2nd and 4th grade students (30 students from each grade) enrolled in department of science education in the faculty of education, Bayburt University in 2008-2009 academic year- spring semester. It is intended to explore students\' written opinions of deficiencies in science and technology curriculum and their suggestions for the curriculum development by using open-ended questions developed by the researchers. The data was descriptively analyzed. The findings indicate that the 2nd grades have more theoretical knowledge of curriculum than 4th grades do though 4th grades can explain their knowledge by associating with the practice.
