Abstract
We propose in this paper a novel technique of controlling spectrum expansion of intense femtosecond pulses in argon gas by temperature. The simulation demonstrated that the temperature gradient gas-filled hollow fiber allows more incident pulse energy and therefore more spectra broadening. This scheme has the similar effect as differential pumping, while avoiding the disadvantages of gas flowing through the fiber.
