Abstract

It is uncommon but possible for positron emission tomography or computed tomography to demonstrate multiple concomitant malignant tumors in one setting. In this clinical setting of synchronous malignancies, it is difficult to distinguish an unexpected benign hypermetabolic osseous process from bone metastasis. The authors present a patient with thyroid, gastroesophageal, and renal neoplasms with distal femoral bone chronic pyogenic osteomyelitis.
