Feminist Discriminations in Tamil Novels

Abstract

A woman is important to lead a happy familial life and in creating society. She is important in three dimensions as a child to a father, as a wife to a man, and as a mother to children. Thus, by enslaving such women, their development was stunted. Women are trapped in multi-pronged attacks like infanticide, dowry and work load. Feminism came into being when the women started thinking about their progress and freedom. The feminist movement was initially a movement that advocated women's rights. Then thoughts about feminism arose in various fields. The world encyclopedia says that feminism means that women should have equality, economic power and political power as equal to men. Women suffer more because men create some discrimination in the society. Discrimination in birth, discrimination in education, discrimination in married life, discrimination in death, etc. This article shows that because of this discrimination women do not get recognition for their rights from birth to death. Article also conveys about the pride of women.
