Abstract
1. 1. DEAE cellulose chromatography of whole egg-maturing female extract followed by Sephadex G200 gel filtration and adsorption on polymerized specific antibodies yields a protein fraction which, besides vitellogenin (VTG) and different lipovitellins (LPV I, I′, II, and probably II′), contains two other proteins unique to females. 2. 2. Whether the latter are related to the VTG-LPV system, and hence involved in the process of vitellogenesis, or whether they are completely different proteins, remains to be determined.
