Abstract

The paper presents a numerical model of the masonry spandrel panel zone (window zone). The model uses a five-parametric Willam-Warnke failure surface. The boundary surface was determined based on the test results in a uniaxial and complex load state. Contact elements whose parameters were determined on the basis of tests were applied in the numerical model at the contact of masonry elements. The results of the numerical calculations were compared with the test results. Cracking stresses and destructive stresses were analyzed. It was found that the results of the numerical calculations using the proposed material model show compliance with the test results.
