Fuller's 1985 results on a class of optimal control problems for a double integrator system facilitate the solution of the following class (parametrized by μ ≥ 1) of optimal bilinear control problems: minimize ∫0 ∞ |y(t)|μ dt subject to ÿ = yv with prescribed initial condition and control constraint |v(t)| ≤ 1.
